"Resurrect" by David E. Stevens

A United States Navy Test Pilot has crashed.  When he awakens, he is in a hospital with the memory of the flight and all that led up to it.  Then there's his wife.  He is not sure where he is other that in a hospital.  While awaiting his consciousness, he clearly remembers speaking with a person called Jesse.  Jesse, has instructed Josh regarding the coming end of the world, or at least the end of the world as we know it.  

  "Resurrect", by David E. Stevens, is a captivating novel.  The author's talents in writing brings the reader right into the story, and grabs a hold.  You as the reader will not be let go until you turn the last page of this novel.  

  Josh Logan is charged with saving the world.  How is he to do such thing when he has been told by Jesse, that the world will be changed/ended in two years.  How does one man do such a overwelming task.  

 

 While in the hospital he befriends a nurse who has been taking care of him for some time.  When Josh awakens, he finds out that he has been transported in time.  He was found on the side of the road, stark naked and with no idea where he is.  He hears voices in his head telling him about the plight that the world is in and how he is to save the world.  What Josh so vividly remembers is how he fought to keep his burning crashing fighter jet from going down in a neighborhood.  He last thoughts are about his wife and the innocent civilians below.  

 

 Oh by the way.  When Josh awakes he does not look anything like he did a year ago.  This fact alone makes Josh wonder if he is going crazy or if in fact Jesse, is trying to tell him, being Josh, that he is the one to save the world.  Josh knows that he can not do the task alone and must enlist others to assist him.  He remembers his Navy associates who can help, but how does he get to them?  Let alone convince them to help him.  

  I would rate this novel a 5 out of 5 Stars.  It is a compelling novel which will leave the reader in awe.  I'd like to take this opportunity the thank Litfuse and David Stevens, for allowing me to read and review this novel.  I'ts sure to become a Best Seller.  Christians and all Book Lovers will find the book both captivating and uplifting.  

"Understand Theology in 15 Minutes a Day",by Daryl Aaron

This exceptional book takes Theology and the Bible and through the help of Daryl Aaron, makes Theology understandable.  First of all, we as readers expect theology to be difficult. , when in fact, if we take Scripture, and study, I mean really study it, it will become understandable.  It like making sense of the teachings of Jesus Christ and brings them down to every day understandability.

  "Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a Day", by Daryl Aaron, is broken down into 40 sections which can be picked by the reader, for closer study, or the reader can do as I did, and read each section and study the scriptures indicated in each.  I found myself spending more time each day reading and studying than the designated 15 minutes, but I found it worth it.  Thank you Daryl Aaron for compiling such a wonderful study.  I'd like to thank Bethany House Publishing for giving my the opportunity to read/study and review this selection.  It is sure to become a must for the Christian Library.

"Globequake", by Wallace Henley

Everything and everyone around you appears to be falling apart and you don't see any future.  How many times have we seen this type of situation or at least felt that way.  These times seem to shake our resolve and without Christ in our lives we would be doomed.  "Globequake", by Wallace Henley is a book which at those times of feeling that everything around you is falling apart, you can turn to the pages of this book to find some of the answers to your "Globequake".  

One such "Globequake" we can turn to is that of the attack and destruction of the Twin Towers on 9/11.  How many of us thought that that was signalling the end of the world as we know it.  

  One thing we can count on if we are Saved, and have accepted Christ as our Savior, is that He will provide and protect us.  His Kingdom is unshakeable 

  Henley has taken the time to utilize Scripture and common sense to explain just how the quakes in our lives can be corrected, if only we use what we read and gain the understanding and knowledge that the Bible provides.  He also uses examples of being unshakeable through historical figures such as General Jackson, during 

the American Civil War, when he was nicknames Stonewall Jackson for his steadfast leadership during one of the first battles of the Civil War.  

All I can say is don't wait for your personal "Globequake:, before you read this wonderful selection.  Wallace Henley has done a wonderful job of providing the information and Scripture to back it up in his book entitled "Globequake."  I would like to thank Henley for providing such a timely piece of literature.  I'd also like to thank Thomas/Nelson Publishing and BookSneeze for the opportunity to read and review "Globequake", by Wallace Henley. 

"Nothing To Hide", by J. Mark Bertrand

Roland March is called to the scene of a gruesome murder.  He finds the body of a male, but the head is missing and there is a strange clue , which March cannot quite figure out.  

  "Nothing To Hide", by J. Mark Bertrand, a a fast passed  crime story in what appears to be a series of mysteries dedicated to Roland March.  As I have not read any of the others, I can only assume the above.  In any case I found this story  intriguing and captivating.  March appears to be a old timer in the annuls of police work and he is fighting to both keep his job and deal with his past.  

  This novel will keep you guessing throughout.  There are some chapters which relate to March's' past.  Can these chapters provide an insight into the murder he is now trying to solve, or is it just an background of March himself.  I'm certainly not going to spill the beans.  

  Once March gets going he finds himself confounded by outside pressures.  The FBI is throwing monkey wrenches into his investigation, but why?  At one point in this story, March's partner and friend is murdered.  This sends March into a frenzy which may end his career.  the search for answers takes March from Houston to Mexico and along the way, he encounters some seedy characters and maybe some seedy law enforcement officials who may not want the crime solved.  

  I'd like to thank Bethany House for the opportunity to both read and review this selection.  "Nothing To Hide", by J. Mark Bertrand is sure to be a hit.  Crime drama readers and enthusiasts will be clamoring for more.  Once you open this book, you will not want to put it down, until you know Who Done It.

"Neptune's Inferno", (The U.S. Navy at Guadalcanal), by James D. Hornfischer

I have just had the pleasure of reading my latest selection entitled "Neptune's Inferno" (The US Navy at Guadalcanal), by James D. Hornfischer.  This epic novel is the ultimate in showing the reader, just what it was like in the Pacific during World War II.  Most people if they think about the Second World War, do not usually think about the fight in the Pacific, other than the attack on Pearl Harbor.  Hornfischer takes the reader right into the fray.    

  Many of the characters in this novel were are should be commonly heard names dating back the the war in the Pacific, but Hornfischer goes further in detailing out just how each and everyone of those leaders interacted with each other and how the conduct of that war was actually handled.  This is the first book that I have read where so many personalities were thrown together and each individual had to give and take, in order to guarantee or at least give our forces the best chance of winning each engagement their fullest commitment.  As you read this book, you will be catapulted back in time.  I found myself stand on the deck of some of the naval ships and on some of those tiny islands in the Pacific.  I could smell the air and the feel the fight.  

  "Neptune's Inferno" is a must read for any history buff of World War II and especially for those most interested in the war in the Pacific.  This book will enlighten even the most avid history buff.

Adam Brown was we know as a hero.  Mind you, he nor any other of our fine military would consider what they do as heroic, but in my eyes, Adam Brown is just one more hero.  "Fearless", by Eric Blehm, is the story of this incredible American who fought and died for his country.  

  Adam Brown was just another regular young man who always had a reputation for working hard and playing just as hard.  When he decided to join the U.S. Navy, he also decided that he would work hard and attain the most out of his decision.  He opted to become a U. S. Navy Seal.  Once accepted into the training, he dedicated his life to first of all completing the rigorous training, while marrying his longtime sweetheart and starting a family.  Kelly, his wife, was also a rock.  Adam had many issues which Kelly helped him through, some difficult times.  Drugs and Alcohol played a dangerous role in Adam's life for a time, but through God's help and Kelly's persistence, Adam was able to fight off his addictions and became a Operator with the famed Navy Seal Team Six.  

  Follow Adam through the eyes and writings of Eric Blehm in this true story of this wonderful and courageous man by the name of Adam Brown.  "Fearless" is the most appropriate title for this novel of courage and sacrifice.  You will not be disappointed.  I'd like to thank WaterBrook Press for the opportunity to read and review this story.  "Fearless", by Eric Blehm, is sure to inspire the reader.

Picture yourself on a small island thousands of miles from home.  Now picture yourself as a U.S. Marine or any other Soldier or Sailor, and you are facing and relentless enemy in the time of war.  That is exactly what will happen to you as you read Jeff Shaara's novel "The Final Storm".  As soon as you open this book, you will become completely and thoroughly engrossed in the story.  

  Shaara has chosen only a few main characters for his novel, but these characters tell the whole story of the war in the Pacific.  There's Adams, a Private in the Marines, who must deal with the ever present danger from the Japanese soldiers defending Okinawa.  He must deal with his own fears as well as too be able to function in the face of the enemy.  Then there's Admiral Nimitz, a man who is dealing with the other Commanders in the Pacific, as he deals with the complexities of the many personalities of each.  

  Then there is Tibbets a pilot of a B-29.  He is involved in a very Top Secret mission.  Not even his crew knows the full impact of their training or the full depth of it's meaning.  And then the Truman, yes the President of the United States of America.  He's trying to keep in touch with his forces and on top of all the information the Commander-In-Chief must contend with during War.  

  As I read this novel, I could almost smell the smells and visualize the battles and skirmishes as they occurred.  Jeff Shaara has done a wonderful job of researching and writing this novel.  If you have never read anything by Shaara, before, you will be hooked on his writing style and knowledge once you start to read "The Final Storm".  

  Bravo to this work of art.  Shaara is a one of a kind author and "The Final Storm", is a one of a kind novel.
